Project 10 The Hard Way – Rear axles and brakes to fill the 9″ Ford housing

The retaining ring pushed up against the bearing to make sure it doesn't work loose.

With the rotor bolted up against the axle you can use feeler gauges to see if the rotor is centered inside the caliper. Mine was not. It took a few of the Strange supplied shims to move the caliper in to get it centered.

Before I shimmed the caliper over, you can see it was going need to be centered to make the brakes function more efficiently. There are several shims so use a caliper or micrometer to get the right shims that you need.
