In the semifinals, LaSalle denied Dutcher a chance for a Saturday double, as he had a .009 package and Dutcher red-lighted by .002. Webber defeated Trey Sommer's '56 Chevy in the other semi, 6.780 (6.78 dial) to a losing 6.574 (6.57 dial).

The Huntsville Super Pro Shootout semifinal paired the '69 Camaro of Quartz Hill, Calif., racer Brenden Herem and the Clay Smith Cams dragster of Chad Langdon with Herem getting the win, and Mark Kidd of Twin Falls, Idaho and Brad Pierce of Riverside, Calif., squared-off with Kidd's dragster advancing as Pierce went red.



In the final, Herem used a .008 package (.007 light and 6.731 on a 5.73 dial) to Kidd's losing 4.737 (4.74 dial, .018 reaction). Huntsville Engine presented Herem with a complete 582 cubic-inch engine, an $18,500 value.
